PROPER
UNIFORM ATTIRE
HAIR must be worn completely
tucked up in the hats. Please come with your hair already in a ponytail or
have clips to hold it up. No dangling hair will be accepted. This is
especially important at contests. All hair must be neatly combed and styled
for concert band. All hair color
must be that of a natural existing color. Men must be clean shaven, no
facial hair will be allowed at a band performance. Failure to follow this
rule will keep you from performing with the band
JEWELRY of any type or style
may not be worn with the band uniform.
NO JEANS will be allowed
under the uniforms. Please wear white
boxer shorts and a white tee
shirt. Anything else is visible under your white uniform. The band is
downgraded at contest performances for this.
WHITE SOCKS are required.
Bring your white socks to all performances. Again, this is something they
grade us on at contests. Please remember to take these home to launder
them.
BAND SHOES must be worn at
all performances. Please keep your shoes and shoelaces clean. New shoes are
$22.00.
HANGING UP THE UNIFORMS: It
is your responsibility to hang up your uniform correctly on the hanger
after each use. Remember to hang your pants with the creases together and
drape them smoothly over the hanger. This keeps them looking crisp longer.
When hanging up the jacket be sure to fasten the hook so it will stay on
the hanger. Please do not lay your uniform on the ground or stand on it.
Please keep in mind these have to be dry-cleaned. If your uniform becomes
stained, please let someone in the uniform committee know immediately.
REPAIRS AND ALTERATIONS: If
at anytime there are repairs or alterations needed for your uniform or bag,
please let Dr. Hanzlik or your uniform captain know immediately. This
includes missing snaps.
FEES: The glove and shoe fee
MUST be paid before you
are allowed to wear the uniform.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: If you
should need financial assistance, please contact the band director
privately as soon as possible. We will not exclude a student because of a
financial situation.
GLOVES and PLUMES: Members except the drum line are required to wear gloves at all
performances unless otherwise instructed. Please keep your gloves clean.
They may be traded in for a clean pair, but if you lose them, you will be
required to purchase a new pair for $3.00
We
will distribute and collect plumes at each performance. No plumes will be
stored in the hatboxes due to their delicate construction
